Visitor LeapCards

LeapCards may be purchased at the time of registration via the registration link and collected with your registration package at the conference venue. A limited amount of LeapCards will also be available to purchase onsite during registration. The cost of the LeapCard is €19.50 and gives you unlimited travel for 3 days (72 hours). Your time period starts from the first time you use the card.

 

The LeapCard allows cashless payment on all Dublin Bus routes (inclusive of the Airlink Airport bus 747 and 757), Luas and DART. Please note that Aircoach doesn’t accept LeapCards! We recommend to download the Real Time Ireland App for further information.

To use the card simply touch your card against a Validator. You will hear a tone to verify you have validated properly:

  • On Dublin Bus and Airlink 747 / 757 touch the card against the Leap Card Validator on the right-hand side as you enter the bus.

  • On Luas (tram), Touch On at a Validator on the platform before you get on the tram and Touch Off when you get off the tram.

  • On DART and Commuter Rail, Touch On at the platform entry gate or Validator before your journey and Touch Off at the platform exit gate or Validator after your journey. 

Arriving by Bus

 

The UCD campus in Belfield is served by a variety of bus services. From the city centre (D'Olier Street ) the journey time is approximately 30 minutes. The 39a bus terminates inside the UCD campus and the 46a, 145 and 155 buses stop outside the main entrance to the campus. A cash single ticket costs €3.00. Correct change is required. A prepaid Leap card can also be used for travelling on public transport.

 

The Transport for Ireland routeplanner or the associated apps will allow you plan your journey, enter UCD Belfield as your destination

Arriving by Road

From O'Connell Bridge in city centre take D'Olier Street to Townsend St. Turn left onto Townsend St. Drive from R118, R815 and Stillorgan Rd/R138 to Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. Take the exit toward Seafield Road/Woodbine Road from Stillorgan Rd/R138. The UCD is on the right hand side.

Arriving by Air

Dublin Airport is 19.1 km from UCD. The Air Coach provides a 24 hour coach service from Dublin Airport to UCD/Stillorgan Road. A single ticket is €10 and €16 return (cheaper fares might be available when booking online). The Airlink routes 747 and 757 service the city centre regularily. Taxis are available outside the arrival hall at Dublin Airport. The cost of a taxi is approx. €30 - €40 to UCD. For those travelling by car from Dublin Airport, the fastest route to UCD is taking the M50 around the city (approx. 35 minutes, this routes has tolls). For going though the city, follow all directions for Dublin City as you exit Dublin Airport. Cross the motorway and take the slipway down onto the M1. On the motorway stay in right hand lane and take Port Tunnel (charges vary depending on time of day - ensure you have Euros) after the toll, continue past the 3 Arena on right and cross East Link Toll Bridge. Soon after passing through the toll booths turn right at the roundabout. Continue to the second set of traffic lights. Turn left at this T junction and follow R131 along the coast.  Slight left onto Merrion Road, go straight and turn left onto Trimleston Avenue. Follow the road onto Trimleston Park and Woodbine Road. UCD is right across Stillorgan Road.

Arriving by Ferry Dublin Port 

There is a free courtesy coach to take you to Dublin city centre stopping at Connolly Station, where you can take the bus. For those travelling by car from Dublin port, follow the signs for the Eastlink and continue past 3 Arena on your right and cross East Link Toll Bridge. Soon after passing through the toll booths turn right at the roundabout. Continue to the second set of traffic lights. Turn left at this T junction and follow R131 along the coast.  Slight left onto Merrion Road, go straight and turn left onto Trimleston Avenue. Follow the road onto Trimleston Park and Woodbine Road. UCD is right across Stillorgan Road.
